Welcome to SSBJJ, Alexandria's premier independent Submission-Only BJJ and grappling academy. Founded in 2018 and led by Head Instructor Ahmed Sobhe (Carlos Machado lineage), we provide an authentic, old-school, and politics-free environment for both Gi and No-Gi practitioners. Whether you are traveling through Egypt or looking for high-level daily rolls, our mats are open to all grapplers and visitors. Ahmed Sobhe is the founder and head instructor of SSBJJ (School of Submissions) → established in 2018 in Alexandria → Egypt. He is dedicated to fostering an authentic → old-school → and politics-free submission grappling culture. He earned his belt lineage under the prestigious Carlos Machado lineage through Julio Rodriguez and Marcos Santos. Alongside leading his academy and coaching both Gi and No-Gi → Ahmed brings a strong professional background in graphic design and brand identity strategy → blending high-level combat sports expertise with creative vision.

Mats are thoroughly disinfected and wiped down after every single class session, with weekly deep cleaning and equipment sanitization.

We maintain a clean, safe, and ego-free environment. All training partners are expected to respect each other's physical safety, maintain good hygiene, and communicate clearly during rolls.
